Volunteer

Are you interested in volunteering with Imagination Library Wood Buffalo?

Here are the following volunteer opportunities we have available:

  • Looking for people who love literacy and want to help our young children have the best chance in life! Visit the Imagination Library to learn more about the impact this program has had over the 20 years it has been around.

This is a great opportunity for those looking to gain board experience with a welcoming group that is always looking to grow. We ask that you live in our community of RMWB and are 18 or older. We are very actively recruiting rural representatives right now.

We are a hands on board, and could use your help. If this is something you'd like to be a part of, please send your letter of inquiry to ilwbf2010@gmail.com. We meet on the second Monday of most months.

  • Looking for an individual or team that loves to know everything going on around town! We need a calendar of events that ILWB should know about. This includes community events that we could engage with to promote our work, or important provincial and national dates that highlight the importance of literacy. By knowing what is happening and upcoming we can be better prepared and increase our engagement. We would also activate our team of ambassadors to attend local events.

  • We are excited to have an outstanding group of donors who give as much as they can. But, we still need to find additional funding to ensure we can help provide books to as many children as possible. If you have experience with writing grant applications, we need your help! You would work closely with the Board of Directors to develop proposals in line with the organization's strategic plans.

  • These individuals will utilize their knowledge of the program and what is going on in the community to help promote the work of ILWB across our region. You will be asked to occasionally represent the organization at events like BBQ's, booths at fairs and other special events. We understand that people have busy lives, which is why we want to build a strong team of ambassadors that help to cheerlead for this program across the region.

  • Imagination Library of Wood Buffalo Foundation is looking for someone to help with approving and registering children into the program. It is a simple database that will not take much time but usually a deadline each month so all children are approved for the monthly mail-out. Please let us know if you are interested.
