Having worked in a bookstore for 20 years, I've witnessed firsthand the profound impact literacy can have on a person's life and the lives of their families. When I was introduced to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, I immediately fell in love with its simple yet powerful concept that can significantly benefit a child's life. I knew I wanted to contribute to bringing this program to the RMWB, and I'm delighted to have been a part of the initiative since its inception here.

I cherish the fond memories of reading to my daughters every night, from the time they were born until they could read independently. We shared many books, often repeating favorites, but always enjoying fun and snuggles together.

I was drawn to join the Board this year because of the inspiring mission and vision of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. The organization's dedication to promoting early childhood literacy and fostering a love of reading in young children deeply resonates with my own beliefs.

One of my favorite childhood books was "The Jungle Book." Its captivating storytelling and memorable characters sparked my imagination and instilled in me a lifelong appreciation for the power of literature. I am convinced that literacy is the greatest gift we can share with others, as it grows with the individual, nurtures personal development, and empowers us to believe in our dreams.

Through my involvement with the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, I am eager to contribute to their efforts in inspiring young minds, promoting the joy of reading, and building a foundation for a brighter future.

I was inspired to join the Board because of my love for reading, and seeing my child learn to read brings me immense joy. In our home, a well-loved book, "The Saggy Baggy Elephant," guarantees giggles before bedtime. I believe that the greatest gift we can give our children, families, and communities is the gift of literacy.

I hope that children and families in the RMWB can enjoy these books and make lasting memories of reading together. I have been with the Board since 2022, and I look forward to seeing the program become a reality very soon.

I look forward to helping get our program up and running, providing books to all the children in our region, and ensuring that many more children can experience the joy of reading and benefit from the transformative power of literacy.

My journey with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library began with the special bond and love of reading I developed with my son during our time in the NICU. This connection inspired me to join the Board this year. I have always treasured the magic of storytelling, particularly through one of my favorite books, "The Magic Faraway Tree," which has nurtured my imagination since childhood. Most recently, reading became an integral part of my relationship with my son, as it served as a powerful source of comfort and connection during our time in the NICU. To this day, we continue to enjoy exploring countless books together, strengthening our bond and fostering our mutual love for reading.

I firmly believe that reading is crucial for building relationships, nurturing personal growth, and promoting learning. By providing children with their own books at home, we can significantly impact their development, learning, and bonding with parents and caregivers. Investing in early literacy is not only beneficial for individual children but also plays a vital role in the future success and well-being of our entire community.
